When I arrived in Peru, in the Sacred Valley (where I lived for 3 years), almost everyone knew and used kambo. I am grateful to my master, Mr. Dunu, who left the Matsés tribe from the depths of the Amazon for the first time in his life, for sharing with us this completely natural healing method for them – which they had used since childhood. From him I was able to learn the true spirituality of kambo, its safe and respectful use – thus supporting him and his beloved family.
What is Kambo?
Kambo is an ancient, Amazonian tribal tradition,
which was originally designed to strengthen the body and mind,
to support focus and stamina,
and is used to promote energetic cleansing.
According to tradition, the tribes used the Kambo
for pre-hunting preparation,
to increase resistance to diseases
and is used to release "heavy", stuck energies.
Kambo is an intensive but short-term process,
which challenges the organization in a controlled manner,
and can initiate deep physical and mental cleansing processes.
Effects and benefits
When kambo is applied, it is absorbed into the lymphatic system and then enters the bloodstream.
The effects are short-lived but intense, with the entire process typically lasting 10–40 minutes. The experience varies from person to person, depending on the individual, the dosage, and the site of application. Somatic, bodily releases can manifest in different ways from person to person.
Kambo is not a "quick fix", but a conscious, ceremonial process that requires preparation and proper accompaniment.
